Rackets now in stock! VBO, CNT 135, CNT 140

Finally the new version of the Xamsa rackets are in stock. I now have the following frames:

Xamsa VBO 135

New for this version is an updated nicer looking finish, slight material change for durability and improved grommets. The great attributes of the old frame are still the same.

Xamsa CNT 135

New for this version is a slight balance change towards the head. Also the carbon material update and layup has dramatically increased the durability. The overall weight is still the same.

Xamsa CNT 140

Brand new version of the CNT, not previously made. Neutral balance point with a light increase of weight over the CNT 135. This makes for a more powerful and durable racket.

Salming Viper

The new Salming Vipers are coming in stock very soon, and I have already started taking orders on these fantastic shoes. I am still stocking the Salming Race R1 2.0, as they are $20 less, and still one of the best shoes around.

Dunlop Squash Balls and Salming Court Shoes

I have just received a lot of Dunlop original double yellow squash balls. They are $10 for 3, or $40 for 12!!

Also I have a batch of some of the best shoes around for Squash. They sell for 140 + tax.

Update; now Salming has introduced the Race R2 shoes. They sell for 119 +tax.

Still a phenomenal shoe, now with a discount price!

What tension should I use

High tension gives more control, but at the expense of power. Low tension creates the trampoline effect where the ball is is contact with the racket for a longer period of time, deforms the strings more than usual and the strings impart more energy on the ball because of the longer contact time. Manufacturers usually recommend a tension range, and if you don’t know any better, the middle tension is usually a good starting point.

If you are using strings that are designed for more power, the tension should be slightly higher than what you would use with typical touch strings.

How often should I restring my racket

You should restring your racket after about 50 games. Waiting for the strings to break is not recommended as this is considered an extreme case of wear and the string will probably have lost its tension and elasticity long before breakage occurs.

The 50 game rule works out to be the same number of restrings a year as games you play a week. e.g. if you play three time a week, then you need three restrings a year.
